Playa & Summer Lake Hot Springs
Archival digital prints from medium format pinhole photographs.
These pinhole photographs were made during a month-long artist residency at Playa in South Central Oregon. This part of the Great Basin is notable for its dramatic landscape shaped by volcanic activity, natural hot springs, and dramatic lakes. Summer Lake is a 20-mile long and 6-mile wide expanse, dry in the summer and filled with water in the winter. The photographs illustrate man’s impact upon the land. Featured here is a selection of the photographs included in a two-person show at Jack Straw Cultural Center, Seattle.
