PARTICIPATE IN THE INAUGURAL MEMORIAL AND TRIBUTE

Shine a light in your window at 5:30 local time on January 19, 2021 and every evening thereafter until winter turns to spring, light returns to the late afternoon and the pandemic wanes.

On January 19, 2021, the Presidential Inaugural will include an event to remember the lives lost to COVID-19 and honor essential workers. In Washington, D.C., a Memorial and Nationwide Tribute is planned at 5:30 eastern time to feature lighting around the Lincoln Memorial Reflecting Pool. It will be the first-ever lighting around the Reflecting Pool to memorialize American lives lost.

Cities and towns around the country are invited to join by illuminating buildings and ringing church bells at 5:30 p.m. in a national moment of unity and remembrance.

Like many of you, I have been looking for ways to honor those whose lives have been impacted by COVID 19 – those who have perished and loved ones still struggling to recover and to honor health care and frontline workers. Join me in remembrance by shining a light in your window at 5:30 p.m. local time on January 19, 2021, and be a part of the Inaugural event. A small gesture by many of us can bring light and love. I’ve reached out to friends, neighbors and family across the country. It is never too late to start to show grace and compassion..
