UW EXPLORATION SEMINAR

Art Historian/Curator Elizabeth Brown and I are leading a three-week seminar in Lyon, France, for the Comparative History of Ideas Program beginning August 30. Our course of study will use the city as laboratory, especially focusing on the Institute Lumiere as the birth place of cinema, the Rives de Saone project as an innovative public art program, and the layered role of art in the city both historically and today. Our 13 students come from diverse backgrounds and majors ranging from intermedia design, photography, urban planning, geography, human centered design, and communications. You can read more about our seminar here.
